While cruising for something interesting to share with out readers I came across this little gem from wired.com today. It’s called iTwinge and it’s a keyboard that slides over your iPhone. Besides being super ugly it also becomes a real pain if you’re slidding this thing on and off again. That said I’m not surprised that iPhone users would feel a need to buy one of these if they ever planned to do any work on their phone.
Over at ShopBlackBerry.com there’s a new Bluetooth device on the radar. The HS-500 BlackBerry headset has been announced to be coming soon. It features the unmistakable BlackBerry logo and an auto volume control system. It’s priced at $79.99 and should be here soon. We’ll keep you posted.
The guys over at Edocrab have a great an app (in beta) that lets you scan barcodes from your BlackBerry and give you a large amount of data about the items in question.
With such helpful things as price on web, reviews with star ratings you can get quick information. If taking a snap shot of the items barcode isn’t possible you can manulay enter the barcode nubmers or do a quick search for the product itself.
This application is very handy to have espcially when trying to find the best price on a product and compare two that you’re looking at in the store. No longer worry about taking the advice of a salesman working off commision.
I didn’t have any issues using this on a Storm, but I can imagine some issues coming up with non-auto-focus cameras.
BerryReview.com is reporting that the possible upgrade procedure for BIS 2.8 may have caused the BIS outage reported by DataOutageNews.com on September 9th. BIS 2.8 was reported by BerryReview.com to go live on September 11th leaving us to believe that this upgrade could in-fact have caused the issue.
This wouldn’t be the first time a BIS upgrade has taken down the system. In February 2008 RIM was increasing the cache and instead took out the network. This was a 3 part system failure at the time. They broke it with the upgrade that wasn’t tested, this lead to a critical failure and their backup system went down. June 7th they went ahead and scheduled the outage when they upgrade to 2.5
We’ve mentioned this before, but we’re able to confirm now that this WILL work on all 3G BlackBerry devices.
You’ll need to be a DirecTV subscriber with Sunday Ticket and Superfan packages. So long as you have all 3 of those requirements met you’ll be able to watch every Sunday game live on your phone. This will be much like last years PC viewer. Just point your BlackBerry over to m.directv.com/Supercast
