Tactile Feedback For Your Storm

Having a touch screen is great when it comes to navigation and most any feature. Then you go to type some and you feel like someone took the keyboard and froze it in a block of water and then gave it back to you. You can’t feel the keys, and ‘touch type’ is a foriegn concept. You’re years of keyboard skills suddenly don’t matter and you soon end up watching your thumbs dance around…until now!IMG_1086

The guys over at Smartest Cover have managed to bring the feel of the keyboard back to the touch screen. They’ve added two new screen protectors (SureType and Qwerty) to the game. These screen protectors have tactile bumps over each key that allow for blind typing but don’t get into the way while doing your normal navigation on the phone. There are however some issues with air bubbles getting stuck under the bumps.

Using this screen protector for a couple of weeks I quickly became used to it. At first it was an annoyance, but that fadded after a couple hours of use. I enjoyed it the most while driving since I could type without looking at the phone at all. Even the air bubbles aren’t noticeable when the backlight is on.

All and all we really liked that tactile feel. If you’re new to the Storm then you’ll like it a great deal and if you’re a veteran user you may feel that it’s pointless since you’ve become accustomed to the non-tactile screen already.
